Where To Find Duckweed
Duckweed prefers eutrophic, motionless fresh water in wetlands, ponds, lakes and slow moving streams. Duckweed requires a lot of nutrients to grow - especially nitrogen and phosphorus. Major sources of nutrients include Canada geese, lawn fertilizer, agricultural run off, leaking septic systems and tree leaves to name a few.
High levels of nitrogen and phosphorus indicate poor pond health, requiring nutrient reduction in conjunction with treatments. Preventative measures should be undertaken to address nutrient levels. PondRestore Ultra contains our best products to control duckweed and algae, and includes tools to reduce nutrient levels.
