How Long does it Take for Hydrothol Granular to Work?

People also Ask:
How do you Use Hydrothol Granular?
Hydrothol Granular should be spread evenly throughout the treatment area when plants and/or algae are actively growing. The amount applied must be within the allowable application rates specified on the product label. It is recommended to use a broadcasting spreader to most effectively apply the product. Once the targeted weeds or algae are completely dead, they will typically wilt to the bottom and get pulled to deeper water by natural water movements. You can let this natural process clear the treatment area of effectively killed aquatic weeds, or use a rake to remove the dead material in order to prevent an accumulation of muck and dead algae. MuckMaid® can save you this manual labor by digesting and dissolving that muck buildup with easy applications of these beneficial bacteria pellets. Bundle the Hydrothol and MuckMaid® and save big!
If the target treatment area is an entire body of water, such as a pond or small lake that has been infested with hydrilla, curly-leaf pondweed or other invasive aquatic weeds, the water body should be treated in sections to minimize the risk of fish kills. Avoid treating more than half of the water body at one time and wait 10-14 days before another application. Additionally, in hot weather, you should only treat one fourth of the water in one application and wait at least two weeks before using Hydrothol Granular again.
If you are treating small areas of larger water, such as just around your dock area on a larger lake, you will want to select a high application rate of 3 ppm to 5 ppm. If you are treating a large section of a smaller body of water, you can select a lower application rate (1 ppm to 3 ppm). Do not treat more than 10% of any water body at one time with doses in excess of 1 ppm.
Make sure to read the product label for complete application directions, restrictions and safety tips.
