Our pond was being overtaken with pond weeds. We applied Spritflo and it took about 6 weeks, but our pond is crystal clear now and free of weeds and moss. Great product.
Barton Bennett –
Put it in my pond two weeks ago. Some weeds along the edge are turning yellow, but it’s too soon to tell.

Spritflo is nothing short of a Godsend. I’ve managed our large community pond for going on 10 years. For many of those years it was a constant battle raking huge piles of algae and other pond weeds to the shore and then having to dispose of them. We had tried all sorts of products. They killed the weeds. But they always came back – with a vengeance! Finally, about four years ago we discovered Spritfo. And I’ve saved 100 hours of labor per year NOT cleaning the pond! It simply stays weed-free. Not so much that the pond isn’t viable – we have 30 lb+ carp, bass, and bluegills. But CRYSTAL CLEAR water – we can see the bottom – and ZERO floating weeds. One treatment of the appropriate quantity (for the size of our pond) of Spritflo per year is all it takes! (And I add Muckmaid each year as well, to continue to consume the debris collected over the years in the bottom of the pond.) Thank you Lake Restoration!

Thank you for the glowing review, Joel, and for including great details! We are so glad you found the best products for your pond!

We own a campground that has 2 separate ponds that were becoming overrun with cattails and weeds. Used the Spritflo product in both and after about 2 months all were dead. Hope we don’t have this issue too often, but if we do we know what to use! Thanks!

Duckweed is a problem for my pond…nothing else…just duckweed. I was told Sonar was my only hope, and at $900 a treatment every other year was hard to swallow. Then I find this website and found that I had options other than Sonar. This product is fantastic and very fast acting. I will be a customer for life. Great product and price. Thanks.

I used Spiritflo for my 1/2 acre pond using 4 oz- I ordered 8 oz just in case 4 oz didn’t work – I put it in the pond in the middle of April and within 45 days saw some results. I had been battling pond weed for over 15 years trying all types of herbicides with little to no results. With the other herbicides i had to wait for the Pond temperature to rise – with Spiritflo I DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT. It is the end of June with hot weather and lots of sun – I see the weeds but they are brown and at the bottom of the pond. Some areas of the pond are 30 feet deep and the pond weed would grow to the top as a layer/mat resulting in a lot of work to just get it out of the pond. This year with the use of Spiritflo and pond shade dye the Pond is clean – clear – and no pond weed evident. Fantastic product and no impact on my fish. I now sit on the deck and enjoy my pond with very little effort to keep it clean and clear.

Used Spiritflo for Waterlillies and worked great. Have used Lake Restoration for several issues over the years and always happy with results.

We fight water meal every summer, but not usually until July. But this year it seems everything is about a month early, so I am placing my annual order for 4oz Spritflo, which always clears up the pond. Very easy to apply. I mix in my sprayer and walk around the pond. Usually clears up in 2-3 weeks.

I bought it to kill Pond weed. I have a 1/2 surface acre pond and used 8 oz of Spitflo. It has retarded the growth after less then a month. The only other way I have controled this weed is by dredging
Paul Kretsch –
Elaine,
We are glad to hear you are using Spritflo as a less invasive pond weed control option to dredging. You should see a change from stunted growth to pond weed dying off over the next two weeks, as long as your pond is not deeper than 5-6 feet on average.

The drop down is misleading. It states 4oz will treat up to 1/2 acre pond. My pond is .4 acres so I bought 4oz. After receiving the product and reading the label I actually need 24oz based on my depth. I wish the website was more clear on what is needed.
Katie Braton –
Thank you for the feedback, Al. This will be helpful for other customers. The Spritflo label is on our webpage and the average depth recommendations are on the Treatment Tips tab. We appreciate your comments and will work to be more transparent!

It has been 30 days since I applied Spiritflo and there is no naiad dying. I feel like I wasted $700.00
Update to my May 3rd review. May 15, 2024
I contacted Lake Restoration and spoke to Katie. She was very courteous and professional. She asked that I send photos of the Naiad. She had Paul look at the photos and he responded promptly and said it looks like the Spiritflo was working and to give it a little more time. 5 days later it was obviously working. Lack of patience was on me. I expected it to work faster. Lesson learned have more patience. The prompt and courteous service is much appreciated. They obviously want to have satisfied customers. I apologized if I caused them any inconvenience. It is refreshing to see that there are still good businesses that are customer oriented. I will definitely refer Lake Restoration to everyone I know. Thanks again to Katie and Paul.
Paul Kretsch –
Benny,
We are sorry to hear you have not achieved the desired results on Naiad control with the Spritflo you applied. Thank you for following up this review by getting a hold of our Sales Manager Katie. We are giving attention to the photos you sent, there is evidence of some of the naiad being impacted by the Spritflo(bleaching / redness). With it being day 35 post application, we will make sure we can see these results through to the finish.

Good product, I use a little more than half the recommended yearly rate for duckweed, but I do it regularly here in South Carolina. I had a 3/4″ duckweed mat over 3-1/2 acres took a whole summer to clear; I already knew about fish problems ahead of time from neighbors. Nothing to do with the product; but, if you kill too much vegetation all at once, the muck reduces oxygen and big fish go belly up, smaller ones and minnows are okay.

We have a fresh water quarry in eastern Massachusetts. I’ve used Spritflo twice in the last 6 years and it worked great. The wild life doesn’t seem to mind it
Jeff Logue (verified owner) –
I put 4 oz in a 3/4 acre pond to kill duckweed and 2 weeks later all my fish died. Do not apply this to your ponds that has fish unless you got a heavy flow of running water feeding the pond.
Katie Braton –
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your feedback. I’m so sorry to hear about the fish kill. Spritflo needs extended contact time: 30-45 days for full results, and there should be no outflow so that the product stays in the water. There can be many reasons for a fish kill, and if you’d like to discuss the specifics of your pond, we’d be happy to talk with you. Give us a call: 763-428-9777 option 2. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We live in MIchigan and had a major problem with Duckweed. We are so glad that we found this item. We have a spring fed pond in our front yard that for years had been covered with duckweed so bad you could not see the water under it. It looked like a green carpet. We tried different things that people suggested even to getting a fountain to keep the water moving more. It took finding Lake Restoration and talking to someone who suggested Spritflo. We bought it figuring might as well tri it. After about 3 weeks it started killing off the duckweed. Shortly after that we could actually see the water again. Last year we also used it only earlier in the season before the duckweed was covering the entire pond. It is so great to see our large foot long goldfish that had started out at little 15 cent feeder fish to finally be able to see them. Bought more of this great stuff and treated it as soon as the duckweed started appearing. The pond is so clear we enjoy seeing the fish & the turtles enjoying the pond. Thanks to Spritflo.

I live in north Florida. My pond is 0.8 acre. It has been covered with thick duckweed for years. Finally researched and found Fluridone at Lake Restorations online. On March 15, I walked around the pond and waded in a little with a garden rake to push the duckweed back enough where I could put 1 oz directly in the water, not on the duckweed. I did this in 8 places around the pond using a total of 8 ozs. Within a month, the duckweed was dead and grey color not green anymore. 90 days later on September 15, I applied it again the exact same way. A few weeks later, the entire pond was clear. Nothing but water. I am buying another pint for next year in case it starts coming back. Completely satisfied.

I have a 1/2 acre pond that was covered in duckweed for 4 years. I tried numerous products and spent a ton of cash, not to mention hours. One pint of Spirtflo was poured in around the edges, 2 weeks later all duckweed was gone. Now 1 year later I have maybe 100 square feet of duckweed in one corner of the pond.

I have a shallow 1/4 acre pond and was advised by LR to use Spritflow for duckweed and possible watermeal. Required dose was 2 oz. I used 4 oz as per instructions of LR and nothing. They would not replace product or stand behind. Bad attitudes. Product failed for recommended use.

Poured a little in to a 5 gallon bucket. Filled the bucket with water and poured it in. I did this 4 times in 4 locations (north, south ,east, and west.) Only used 2 ounces total on my half acre pond. It worked great. No second application necessary.

is spritflo selfdispersing ,can I just pour It In

I used this product to kill watermeal and it worked well. Took a while but the stuff is hard to kill. The only complaint I have was the lack of application instructions.

It does not work at all like Sonar. I used twice as much of the product as I use of Sonar and pond weeds are as bad as ever, 5 weeks later. Customer service is not helpful at all, with a condescending attitude. Weed is Hydrillia and I applied the product the same way I have Sonar or equivalent for the last 15 years. Price seemed too good to be true and unfortunately was.

The is the second year I have used this product to kill off the beautiful yellow water lilies that like to take over our 1 1/3 acre pond. It works very well. I will use it again if they come back.

We used Spiritflo (4 oz.) in our 1/2 acre pond to eliminate the duckweed. Two applications were applied 10 days apart. Within thirty days the duckweed was completely gone. Great product.
Robert` (verified owner) –
I used Spritflo to eliminate hydrilla in my pond. After the ice went out in the spring, pieces of hydrilla were floating & you could see it growing in the bottom of the pond. I applied the product on May 5 & the hydrilla was completely gone in less than a month (I just did one application – I did not split them). It has also eliminated the small amount of duckweed in the pond & killed or stunted the grassy weeds that were growing. I have fish & frogs in the pond & they do not appear to have been affected by the herbicide.
