Description
Apply every two to four weeks until you reach desired results. Homeowners and lake associations alike can understand the problems associated with lake sludge: gross, squishy lake bottom, increased nutrients for plant growth, and murky water all make your lake shore less appealing. With MuckMaid pellets, you can gain back control of your lake and enjoy the water as intended. MuckMaid’s bacteria and enzymes consume organic matter, resulting in effective pond and lake muck removal in just weeks! Once the application is complete, you can swim and fish immediately.
Benefits:
- Active ingredient: beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and trace minerals
- Safe for fish and wildlife
- No swimming, fishing, or irrigation restrictions
- Simple application
- Results in just 2-4 weeks
- Eats 1-3 in. of muck per treatment

Ten years ago we started using MuckMaid on our beach and dock area. We went from knee deep muck to having a sandy beach in less than four years. It is now a great place for our grandchildren to play and swim. Our neighbors in the canal off of our lake saw our success and seven years ago we started treating weeds and using MuckMaid to open the canal. The muck was several feet deep at the center of the 1,000 foot long canal and knee deep along the shore. It smelled bad and was impassable by electric boats (our 76 acre lake is no gas motors) and not enjoyable by paddle and row boats. The shore line is now sandy and passable and we are “dredging” the rest of the canal several inches each season. There are now three new electric pontoon boats enjoying the improved canal. I should also note that the fish population has increased dramatically. The canal that was like a deceased appendix and is now an asset to the lake.

Hi Ted,
Thank you for the great review! It’s helpful to hear such specific feedback. We’re so glad we have a partnership with you!

For compliance with California’s Department of Pesticide Regulation, we just wanted to clarify that using MuckMaid to increase the depth of the canal is separate from treating weeds.

AMAZING product! We have a 1/2 acre swimming hole/pond in southeast Idaho. The pond gets up to 12 feet deep, with an average depth of 6 feet. Most of the shoreline is gravelly with dirt and clay mix. The bottom of the pond is the same. Some of the shoreline is sand, which we brought in from some local sand dunes. Our pond developed slimy, mucky areas which were disturbing to walk on. Our guests were creeped out by the slime spots and grab-your-feet muck spots. I applied MuckMaid enzyme tablets though out the pond and saw (felt) dramatic results within a week of the first application. I apply MuckMaid once a month during the swimming season to ensure a muck-free shoreline and pond floor. It’s an amazing product! I also use pond dye along with the muck remover tablets to help keep the pond water clear and “inviting”. We get lots of compliments on our swimming hole because of the use of the products. BTW, we stock the pond with trout fish and the muck remover and pond dye don’t negatively affect the fish at all. It’s also safe for swimming in, and safe for the cows to drink the pond water.

We used this for the first time this year and it even cleared my neighbors. Next year were both going to buy more _

We have lake front property on a 300 acre lake. First, let me start by saying our lake is treated for hydrilla and algae regularly. So, we dont have major issues. However, Every year, our swimming area around our dock was so gross with slimy algae and muck. It was so bad, the kids would only get in and out via a raft or float. Anything to keep from touching the bottom! Then I started treating with muck maid. I waited a few days after the regular hydrilla and algae treatment. Afterwards we raked the algae off the bottom of the area around our dock and treated the area. Within 1 week, the entry area was sandy instead of mucky. Now, 2 weeks after treatment, we have not had regrowth of algae. In previous years, we would have to rake the bottom every week. There are still some soft, slimy areas so will continue to treat every 2 weeks as needed. Very pleased so far.

We are so glad to hear you find great value in using our MuckMaid to improve your lakeshore. For compliance with California’s Department of Pesticide Regulation, we wanted to clarify that the MuckMaid does not directly control algae.

I have tried several other muck dissolvers and eliminator pellets and none of them performed as well as the Muck Maid pellets. We have been trying to establish a beach area on our 3/4 acre pond for more than 3 years and nothing seemed to work. We tried Muck Maid pellets this year, and after a few treatments we noticed the bottom getting firmer and less muck disturbance when you walk in. We still have a way to go, but we’ve seen a dramatic improvement in just one year.

This works miracles ! After getting algae under control in our 1/2 acre pond, we then had issue with mucky stinking sludge about 10 feet off the beach. noticed a difference in few weeks. By the end of the swimming season it was 80% better. We are on the 3rd year now and I use it consistently to Keep muck away. Happy to say our entire swimming area is totally “yuck” free

Works great. Makes the bottom solid and sandy around our dock.

This is great! I applied it every few weeks to our lakeshore beach area last year, and I could see a marked difference after the FIRST use. The water was crazy clear, and we could watch the fish swimming and see everything on the sandy bottom. Now, I could have used more, because when we went in, we stirred up everything from under the surface of the sand and made the water cloudy again, but it is a lake after all!! I was just so happy not to be walking and sinking my toes into slime from decomposing leaves when I walked in the water anymore!! So happy with this product!

Did nothing. Maybe in a very small area this would work but not along your beach. Very expensive for small amount.

Used it and didn’t see any change at all. Hope to some change but not really think that’s going to happen.

Just starting using this last year (2016). We purchased a cabin in 2015 that had a poor shoreline. Shoreline had not been used in over 10 years. Shallow waters had thick muck from layers of decaying leaves. We purchased 10 lbs and split it up in 1 lb bags and applied every 2 weeks. By end of season we could see sand in a areas. We realize it will take several applications. This is a lesson to all to keep up with your shoreline – it will save you money in the long run.

I have a 35,000 gallon Koi pond, impossible to drain and clean. Been using MuckMaid for the past five years to keep the nasty stuff off the bottom. Works great!

Not too good. After three applications, the muck was still there maybe an inch gone for the season.

I purchased the 1 lb trial for my 15 x 22 ft pond. Even though the advertisement says “MuckMaid® is an effective pond and lake muck removal solution that will make your water crystal clear with a nice sandy bottom.” this does not prove true. After the 1 lb is finished applied as the company suggested my pond is still black with muck and smells terrible. This item is misrepresented and should be researched further before put in the market.

I have used several top Muck removal products for 10 years. Muck products are always expensive for some reason – my only complaint. Prices are really the same for pond sizes with different competing products. However, MuckMaid used starting just last season, has made it possible to see sand at the bottom of the pond in lots of areas! It does take more product to cover more area – would like to spend $85 but doesn’t cover what it says it will. $150 is a lot considering we also get 3 or 4 other products. Only reason I gave it 4 star and not 5 (price too high for volume). BUT – the results absolutely, 100% work! I can’t tell you how hard I’ve worked on our 1/4 acre natural pond for years. With 3 foot long Koi and albino catfish up to 42″ – it’s a joy to see them swim under the surface, instead of just seeing their mouth at feeding time (used to be so dark / murky). If they’d charge $85 for the $149 volume size, that would be fair and helpful.

I got my second order of the Muck Maid today. Super service. I will keep adding to our lake area once a month. I can see a improvement with the muck. It may take several years as the muck is several feet deep in some areas. We had a saw mill on our lake in the late 1800. 1888 – 1903. A lot of weed growth and many oak a maple leaves are the bottom. I can however now see sand out 3 to 4 foot depths. The Muck Maid is working. This is the only product that is getting rid of the Muck. Thanks Dale

Don’t know if this will make the website or not but there is no way this small bucket covers 20,000 square feet. I have approx. 8,000 ft total and I barely did the shore lines. Who cares if it works at this price $149.00) I see others sell the same thing at Amazon for 25# I will probably do that next time.

This product is amazing! My kids wouldn’t swim at our family cabin because the beach area had so much muck. After using this product, we got rid of 6+ inches of gunk and my kiddos love playing in the water again.
