Our Mizzen algaecide requires a short contact time for controlling algae, including string algae.

Once the weeds are under control, apply MuckMaid to eliminate the muck around your dock or in your beach, improving your recreational areas.

FAQ

What are these products used for?

This is a comprehensive lake weed management program: Dibrox will kill floating and submerged weeds, Mizzen will kill algae, and MuckMaid will eat the inches of muck at the bottom of your water. Together, these lake weed control products will make your swim area usable again.

What are the active ingredients?

  • Dibrox: diquat dibromide
  • Mizzen: copper ethanolamine complex
  • MuckMaid: beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and trace minerals

How to get rid of lake weeds and muck?

Mix Dibrox, Mizzen, and water in a sprayer and spray over where the weeds and algae are. Use a scoop to toss MuckMaid pellets into the area where you have muck.

Is granular or liquid better?

Both our Granular Dock & Swim Area Products and the liquid Dock & Swim Area Products give great weed control for lakes or ponds.

Are these lake safe weed killers?

All our products are safe to use with the fish, frogs, turtles, etc. in the water as well as those that come visit. Trout, koi, and channel catfish have a sensitivity to the copper in Mizzen. If you have these particular fish in your pond, use Cape Furl instead.

Will they kill duckweed, algae, and submerged plants?

Dibrox will kill duckweed and a wide variety of submerged weeds. Mizzen will kill almost any algae. MuckMaid is not designed to kill plants or algae; it eats the inches of muck at the bottom of your water.

When should I apply these lake weed killers?

Apply Dibrox and Mizzen when the water temperature is 60° F or warmer and the weeds/algae are actively growing. Apply MuckMaid every 2-4 weeks when the air temperature is 50-90° F.

When will I see results after applying these lake weed killers?

After applying Mizzen, you’ll see full results on the algae in 7-14 days. After applying Dibrox on duckweed, you’ll see results in 5-7 days. For submerged weeds, you’ll see full results in 17-21 days. Because the bacteria in MuckMaid are live and going through a natural process, you’ll see full results in 30-45 days.

The Dibrox worked really well, the Mizzen didn’t do anything, but maybe we didn’t need that product. Muck maid works great too.

These products work very well, I have used muck maid and mizzen over the last 3 years with great results. My 1/4 acre pond is leaps and bounds from the mud hole it was when I purchased the land. this year was the first time I tried the Allgare, although it killed most of the American lotus on the first treatment I don’t feel it works as well as the granular Navigate. I put Navigate in the pond the first yr. which was almost totally covered with the lotus, It whipped it completely out in 3 weeks, yr. two I had a few small areas reappear, floated out to each little section on a tube sprinkled them with the navigate and presto ! gone in a week. had 2 areas reappear this summer tried liquid Allgare for the price not quite as good of result still have a few plants that survived since the treatment 4 weeks ago, plan to treat again in another week, hoping that does the trick.
