What is PhosControl good for?

PhosControl is used to remove free phosphorus from the water and to clarify water.

What does phosphate remover do?

Phosphorus is the number one nutrient algae need to grow. PhosControl binds to phosphorus before plants and algae can use it.

How to apply PhosControl?

Use a scoop or broadcast spreader to evenly distribute PhosControl over the water.

Is granular or liquid better?

PhosControl is fine granules and is best broadcast directly. It can be mixed with water to make a slurry (it doesn’t dissolve completely for a few days). Use a nozzle wider than 1/4 inch in diameter and agitate often.

Is PhosControl safe for fish and wildlife?

Yes, PhosControl is safe to use with the fish, frogs, turtles, etc. in the water as well as the animals that come visit.

Will PhosControl kill algae?

No, PhosControl will not kill algae or plants that are already present. It bonds with phosphorus, taking that nutrient out of the equation and thus helping to prevent future growth.

When should I apply PhosControl?

The best times to apply PhosControl are early spring and late fall when plants/algae are dormant.

When will I see results after applying PhosControl?

PhosControl can clear up your water in a matter of a few hours to a day.
